Hi, everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates! Truth is Monique's world has been pretty quiet lately.
We know for sure she's already filmed her cameo appearance in Giuseppe Tornatore's latest film, Baarìa. Monica plays a girl making out in front of a window. "It's nothing scandalous," said the director. "Some kids see through an open window a couple making out and Bellucci is there." Also, Ms. Bellucci is rumoured to be cast as Queen Mermaid in Pitof's Mermaid Island, now in pre-production for a 2010 release.
Last but certainly not least, Sluga and I uploaded some new gorgeous scans from recent issues of French magazines Elle and Studio. Monica looks amazing, doesn't she? More exclusive scans will be coming real soon, so stay tuned!
Oh, I almost forgot: Sanguepazzo is now out in French theaters! Go see it! It's a beautiful, beautiful film. Not to mention our lady's performance: breathtaking.

Last night I went to see Sanguepazzo *__* It's such a moving, beautiful, profound film. Monica is extraordinary in it, one of her best performances ever. If you have the chance, go see it (I'll certainly go at least once more).
Sluga has scanned some recent interviews and articles from Italian magazines Oggi and Donna Moderna.
Oh, I almost forgot: Sanguepazzo received the special François Chalais award by the French culture minister and CNC in association with France 2. Congrats! :)

Yet another photoshoot taken at Cannes Film Festival has been added to the gallery.
Here's a list of all the latest news in Monique's world:
- Sanguepazzo is opening today in Italian theaters! The film got great reviews and Ms. Bellucci's performance is absolutely breathtaking :)
- Monica should now be in the US filming The Many Lives of Pippa Lee.
- L'Uomo Che Ama, one of her latest movie projects, has been sold to several foreign markets including Russia, Brasil, Greece, Portgual and Eastern Europe.
- Giuseppe Tornatore, director of Malèna, is shooting his new film: Baaria - La Porta del Vento. It's a comedy set in a Sicilian village between the 1930s and the 1970s, and centered around a couple and their families, friends and neighbors. Monica will star in it along with many other well-known Italian actors and actresses.
- During a recent interview to Radio Monte Carlo, Monica commented on the Gerard (kind of a French Razzie for worst actress) she received for Le Deuxième Souffle: "They always give this kind of awards to famous actors in order to get publicity out of it." Well said, Monique! :)

The audience at the premiere acclaimed Sanguepazzo with a ten-minute standing ovation. Monica and the rest of the cast had to renounce going out of the theatre from the front door because of the unbelievable number of photographers waiting for them outside. Critics call Monica's performance as Luisa Ferida the best of her career. Our most sincere congratulations to the whole cast and crew of this amazing Italian film!
The gallery has been updated with even more photos from the photocall and from the premiere. Also, Sluga found some gorgeous shots from a new photoshoot taken at Cannes.

Today Ms. Bellucci was in Rome promoting the Italian release of Shoot 'Em Up. Monica talked about her character: "You can play a prostitute in a thousand different ways. I have nothing against prostitution, on the contrary it's a world that always creates curiosity." Our goddess dubbed herself for the Italian version of the movie. "The dubbing director proposed me to have my character speak Neapolitan during the moments I'm angry with Clive Owen, it immediately seemed like a nice idea to me."

We found two beautiful promo stills of L'Uomo Che Ama. Monica looks simply gorgeous! Her character's name in the movie is Alba. Here's what she said about the film and her experience on set:

"Movies are certainly weird. I met Pierfrancesco for the first time two days ago and I immediately found myself in the bed with him in a scene of intense sexuality. Fortunately he's nice and I like him, we immediately found a synthony."

"Apart from Ricordati di Me, usually movies use me as the woman who makes men dream, seductive and distant, a little out of the ordinary. Alba instead is a woman satisfied with her work - she prepares art shows - but she deals with daily problems like all women in the world. I think that in the movie I represent the 'home-woman'."

"I need the doubt, it's the push that makes me do things. Every character that I accept scares me. Maybe that's why I accept them."

As we announced in our previous update, at the moment Mademoiselle Bellucci is busy filming Mariasole Tognazzi's L'Uomo Che Ama in Turin, Italy. The first pics from the set have surfaced on the net and have been uploaded in the gallery. Monica shows a new haircut and a new hair color!
More info about the movie: Pierfrancesco Favino plays Roberto, a 40-year-old pharmacist dealing with his parents (Piera Degli Esposti and Arnaldo Ninchi), work (Marisa Paredes) and women (Monica Bellucci and Ksenjia Rappoport). Monica's character works for an art fundation, while Ksenjia is a hotel director. "It's an adult film about love, where the feeling is direct and curt, just like the relationships and the dynamics that bind us to life," says Tognazzi, who co-wrote the film with Ivan Cotroneo. The soundtrack is by Carmen Consoli.

Not everyone knows that Ms. Bellucci actively supports AGOP, an association that helps the parents of cancer-ill children. Sluga and I found some very nice pics of Monica visiting children at the hospital about four years ago, and we also added 3 photos of last year's press conference for la Casa a Colori.

The first HQ promo pic from Sangue Pazzo has been released! Gee, we can't wait for this movie to come out! Apparently its trailer has been screened at Berlinale for international distributors, and the film is currently being considered for Venice Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival competition.
